DOZENS of scooter riders descended upon Edinburgh this week to mark the opening of a stage version of the classic rock opera Quadrophenia.

More than 40 riders met at Portobello Beach on Tuesday night before tearing through the city ahead of the four day run of the production at the Festival Theatre.

It is the first time Pete Townshend’s cult hit has been brought to the stage.
