THE FUNERAL of a man crushed to death by a forklift truck at a meat factory a week before he was due to go on holiday will take place tomorrow (wed).
George Hardie, 60, was struck by a forklift as he worked in the yard of Halls of Broxburn last Tuesday afternoon.
Paramedics fought to save the popular 60-year-old as he lay trapped under the machine, but their attempts were in vain.
A full investigation has been launched by Health and Safety chiefs.
Mr Hardie’s funeral service will take place at Limefield Church, West Calder, at 11.15am before moving onto Adambrae Cemetery in Livingston at Noon.
The popular worker, from Livingston village, is survived by wife Anne and family Stuart, Jim and Jill.
