A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault that left a teenager blind in one eye.

Eddie Watt was left with horrific facial and head injuries after an alleged assault late last Friday night.

The 19-year-old had been walking with friends in the Oxgangs area when the alleged assault took place.

He required stitches to his eyeball and a staple in his skull as a result of the injuries caused.

Lothian and Borders Police say that a 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault.

The man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on March 12.

Police are still searching for a second man police believe to be involved in the alleged incident.

The suspect is described as white, between 35 and 40-years-old, 5ft 9ins tall with a large build.

He was seen wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and is believed to have used a wooden stick during the incident.
