Three injured as car flips over in early morning smash

A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with suspected leg and stomach injuries after her car turned on its side during a two-vehicle crash.

The crash, near Bush Estate in Penicuik, Midlothian, happened shortly after 7am today, leaving the woman and two men injured.

She was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary’s accident and emergency department but the extent of her injuries was not yet known.

A Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: “Three people were hurt when two cars collided at the Bush Estate.

“We were called at around 7.15am after the crash was spotted by a passer by.

“An ambulance crew attended the scene and took a female driver to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with suspected leg and abdominal injuries, after her car turned on its side during the collision.

“The two other males involved in the accident are not thought to be seriously injured, but the extent of all the injuries has not yet been determined.”
