Teenager faces court over alleged stab attack in Leith

A TEENAGER will appear in court today (Fri) charged with stabbing a man in the stomach.

The 19-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with serious assault and robbery following an incident in the Leith area on Monday, August 30.

His alleged victim, a 36 year old man, had been walking in Great Junction Street around 3pm when the alleged attack happened.

He suffered a stab wound to his abdomen and was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

Police, who appealed for witnesses at the time, confirmed a teenager was due to face a Sheriff later today.
