Man punched in face for computer game

By Cara Sulieman

A MAN was attacked by two teenagers and punched in the face for a computer game.

The 22-year-old had just come out of the Asda store on Lindsay Road in Edinburgh when he was approached by the youths.

They chased him before catching up and punching him in the face before making off with a computer game he had only just bought from the shop.

After the incident at around 20 minutes past midnight this morning, the two suspects ran off towards Hawthornvale and North Fort Street.

The two boys are described as being between 16 and 17 years old.

The first was 5ft 6ins tall, slim build with short dark brown hair and was wearing a dark hoodie at the time of the attack.

The second is described as 5ft 9ins, also of slim build with short dark hair and was wearing a gray hoodie.

A police spokesman said: “It would appear that the victim was attacked in order that the suspects could obtain the computer game that he had just purchased.

“It is suspected that two other males may have been approached by the suspects at a nearby bus stop in Lindsay Road before the attack took place, and we are keen to trace these potential witnesses as a matter of urgency.

“Anyone else who was in the area at the time, who either witnessed the assault or noticed the suspects there, should contact police immediately.”

Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or charity Crimestoppers.
