Scots follow in footsteps of Simon Cowell and opt to give the gift of youthful skin

SCOTS are shunning the trend for traditional socks and perfume stocking fillers this Christmas and are following in the footsteps of music mogul Simon Cowell and choosing to give the gift of youthful skin – Botox injections.

Sculpta Cosmetic Clinic, which has clinics in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, has been inundated with approaches from people keen to follow the lead of the X Factor judge by buying Botox treatments for their friends and family.

Simon Cowell was reported to have bought the cast and crew of the X Factor Botox treatments for Christmas, allowing them to hold back the aging process ready for the New Year.

Dr Mohammed Ahmad, clinical director of Sculpta Clinic said: “Botox has always proven to be a popular treatment at our clinic, as it is probably the most significant and most effective anti aging treatment there is.

“But since the start of the month, the number of Botox bookings and the sale of Botox treatment gift vouchers has dramatically increased – showing that it is clearly the gift of choice this season.

“Men and women of any age want to look their best and retain their youthful looks and by giving anti aging treatments such as Botox as a gift during the festive period, it helps them do just that.

“Rather than traditional and meaningless presents that don’t last very long or are unwanted by the receiver, Botox is a gift that really does stand the tests of time – making it the perfect present.”

Botox has become a global phenomenon used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

In the US alone, more than two million people have a reduction treatment every year.

Botox temporarily weakens the muscle and has shown to have dramatic results, even after just one treatment.

Depending on the skin type results can last from there to five months.

As well as Botox, the clinic also provides a range of innovative treatments including micro dermabrasion, acne and pigmentation treatment, carboxytherapy, autolougus skin harvesting, DermaRoller micro needling and laser resurfacing.

The clinic also provides all of its clients with a 24 hour on-call medical doctor to offer the best in after care.
