Man falls 50 foot while out for a stroll

A MAN was airlifted to hospital after he fell 50 foot down a ravine in Perthshire while out for a stroll.

An RAF search and rescue helicopter was called to the scene near Aberfeldy at 3.15pm yesterday (Thurs)

Mountain Rescue and a paramedic were at the scene but the man was unable to be moved until the helicopter arrived.

A spokesperson for the RAF said: “The helicopter was scrambled to the incident having completed another job in Fort William.

“The casualty was attended to by search and rescue crew and winched into the helicopter.

“The helicopter had to refuel at Killin before the casualty was delivered to the Bellford Hospital in Fort William.”
