Man dies in suspicious fire in Grange area of Edinburgh


DETECTIVES are poised to launch a murder investigation after a man died in a fire in one of Edinburgh’s wealthiest suburbs.

Fire crews were called to the property on Chalmers Crescent in the Grange area of the city at around 8.20am today (Mon).

The flat was well alight when they arrived and found the man’s body inside.

A 20-year-old woman was rescued by firefighters and given medical attention at the scene before being taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where she was being treated for smoke inhalation.
