A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after being attacked in the early hours of this morning (tues).
Police say he was the victim of a “serious assault” but refused to elaborate further.
The man was left with head injuries following the incident, which took place just after 3am on Edinburgh’s Calton Road.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
The road was closed between New Street and Old Tolbooth Wynd until around 9am.
