Man denies forcing four-year-old girl into freezer

By Neil Pooran

A MAN is due to stand trial for disfiguring a four-year-old girl by forcing her body into a freezer.

Stuart Kitt is said to have injured the youngster after he dragged her by the ankles and held her arms in a freezer cabinet, court papers claim.

The 33-year-old is also said to have placed the girl’s feet and body in the appliance, prosecutors say.

The four-year-old was said to be severely injured and permanently disfigured as a result of the alleged attack.

The alleged offence was said to have taken place in the Edinburgh area in October 2007.

Defence agent Duncan Hughes lodged a special defence of incrimination  on Kitt’s behalf during today’s brief hearing.

Kitt is also facing two charges of failing to appear in court.

Sheriff Nigel Morrison agreed that the case should call for trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later this month.
