Police hunt missing teen

Police believe Rebecca may have an overnight bag with her

POLICE are searching for a teenage girl who has been missing from her home for two days.

Thirteen-year-old Rebecca Lindsay was last seen at her home in Tron Square, Edinburgh at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

She has not made any contact with family or friends since then.

Police say Rebecca usually socialises within the Tron Square and Hunter Square areas of the capital.

However, she is comfortable travelling outside the city and officers believe she may currently be somewhere in the Glasgow city-centre area.

She is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall with a slim build, long brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing navy blue tracksuit bottoms, black t-shirt, white hooded top with a black “V” on the front, silver scarf and pink hair band.

It is also believed she had an overnight bag with her.

A police spokesman said: “Rebecca is a confident young girl and has no problem travelling on her own but we are keen to find her and return her home as soon as possible.

“Anyone who recognises her description and believes they have seen her in the past 48 hours is asked to contact police immediately.

“Similarly, we would urge Rebecca to get in touch with a loved one, a friend or police to let us know she is safe and well.”

Anyone with any information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the charity Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.
