The thieves made off with electrical items

THIEVES targeted a house after the resident left it for less than an hour.

The 58-year-old man came back to find his home had been broken into and various electrical goods had been stolen.

He left his home in Birnies Court in Edinburgh at 11.30am on Saturday and when he returned at 12.15pm he found the items missing.

A police spokesman said: “The victim has been left incredibly upset at the theft of his belongings and we are keen to speak with anyone who can assist with our enquiries.

“Anyone who was in or around Birnies Court and witnessed any suspicious activity, or who can help us identify the suspects is asked to contact police immediately.”
