AN elderly woman was attacked by a dog as she walked through a car park.

The 80-year-old was bitten by a Jack Russell as she exited the parking area at Barnraws in Dumfries at around 3.50pm on Friday.

The animal was with two teenage boys. They ran off with the dog after the attack.

The woman went to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary where she was treated for bite wounds to her arm.

Police are now hunting for the boys involved.

The first boy is described as being around 14 or 15 years old, 5’ 4” tall and was wearing dark clothing and a black woollen hat with white flecks on it.

The second boy is in his late teens, 5’ 9” tall and was wearing a light coloured top.  Both spoke with local accents.
