£6k drugs raids in capital

Police also found £6,000 in cash

HEROIN worth £6,000 has been seized in Edinburgh.

Lothian and Borders police also found valium and diazepam, along with almost £6,000 in cash, after raiding three properties in the Wester Hailes and Sighthill areas of the Capital.

Three men (35, 37 and 40 years) and two women (38 and 39 years) have been charged in connection with drug offences, and they are all due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (February 9).

A police spokesman said: “Lothian and Borders Police is committed to ridding our communities of drugs, and these seizures were a direct result of local people coming forward and giving us information.

“We would encourage anyone who suspects anyone of profiting from crime in their community to contact us on 0131 311 3131, or the charity Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.”
