Cake maker hopes baking labour will inspire panda love

A SCOTTISH cake maker is hoping her latest creation will encourage a little Valentine’s Day love in the Panda enclosure at Edinburgh Zoo.

Eunice Hessell has crafted a 2ft-high mini zoo in sponge and icing, complete with two very much loved-up pandas at the top.

The professional cake maker from Edinburgh will hand over the creation to sweet-toothed zoo staff tomorrow (Tues).

She said: “I was so excited to hear about the pandas coming to Edinburgh.

“I think that the pandas’ arrival at the zoo is just such a wonderful thing for Scotland and I wanted to make something special to celebrate.

“I am such a big fan of the pandas – I mean who doesn’t love the pandas?”

Eunice, who also works as a property manager for the Church of Scotland, started her business three months ago.

She said unusual requests for cakes so far included a penguin playing an X-Box.
