Taxi crash death, man named



A PEDESTRIAN who died after colliding with a taxi has been named by police.

Stuart Gillies, 22, from Inverness died following the incident in Edinburgh over the weekend.

Mr Gillies passed away at the Western General Hospital on Monday afternoon having been involved in a collision with a taxi on Old Dalkeith Road in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Officers continue to investigate this incident and anyone who can assist with their enquiries is asked to contact police immediately.
