Two separate bodies. The R&A is the governing body of golf along with the USGA, the club is not. This story confuses the two. Both men and women make golf’s rules as R&A representatives and, for the time being, support single-gender clubs, like the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews, to remain as such.
