Eight year old boy killed after being hit by van named

Police Scotland have named the young boy who died after being hit by a van yesterday evening.

 

Iain Sturrock,8 years-old, was hit by a white Citroen Berlingo van shortly before 5pm yesterday.

 

The accident took place on Seafield Street, Portsoy in Aberdeenshire.

 

The family of Iain released the following statement:

 

“Iain was a loving little boy who lived for swimming, karate and going to Cubs.

 

“We are in shock and are absolutely devastated that he has been taken from us and request privacy while we come to terms with what has happened.”
