Election penalty shootout puts Labour in the lead

Labour won against the Conservatives today in a dramatic penalty shoot out at Spartans Community Football Academy in Edinburgh.

Both teams got off to a nervous start with both Labour’s Ken Macintosh and Conservative staffer Graeme Rose missing from the spot.

Assistant General Secretary of Community the Trade Union, John Park, pulled off two solid saves to give the Labour team the upper hand.

Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy scored to seal victory for the Labour team.

Labour and the Conservatives took to the penalty spot to help Motor Neurone Disease campaigner Gordon Aikman in his fight against the terminal condition.

Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy, the party’s Health spokesperson Jenny Marra, Scottish Conservative Finance spokesperson Gavin Brown and Energy, Enterprise and Tourism spokesperson, Murdo Fraser, were among the politicians taking part in the “Show MND the Red Card” event at Spartan’s Community Football Academy.
