Perth Racecourse season opens

Perth Racecourse are preparing to open their gates to the 2015 season, with a three-day Festival from Wednesday 22nd.

The festival boasts a total prize pot of £200,000, with a huge prize fund of £25,000 on Thursday 23rd.

Among the races to be held is the GA Engineering Group Highland National on Friday 24th.

Racegoers will experience seven jump races on each day of the Perth Festival, including a possible appearance from AP McCoy who has enjoyed several victories at Perth over the years.

The three day meeting is well known for its big party atmosphere and will include samba dancers, a samba band, local artisan producers and new sponsors, Heineken and Mackies Icecream.

Sam Morshead, Perth Racecourse General Manager commented: “The Perth Festival is always a big party because it comes after six months of silence!”

“I know that racegoers from across Scotland love a day with us and we attract a huge amount of visitors into the area for this three day meeting.”

In a first for Perth, guests over sixty are to be gifted with free entry on Wednesday 22nd April, the season’s opening day.
