CalMac ferry meets Queen Mary 2 in Oban Bay

The 90-metre-long passenger ferry MV Isle of Mull was dwarfed in by a 345-metre luxury liner in Oban bay yesterday.
The massive ocean liner RMS Queen Mary 2  is on day two of her Scottish visit to celebrate Cunard’s 175th birthday.
FullSizeRender2The QM2 boat has displacement of 75,000 tonnes, the capacity for 2,620 passengers and carries 1,253 officers and crew..
Meanwhile the MV Isle of Mull, one of CalMac’s larger ferries, has a tonnage of 4,719, can carry 962 passengers and has 28 crew members.
The luxury liner will sail to Liverpool on the next leg of her UK tour while the CalMac ferry will continue to ferry passengers between Oban and islands on the west coast.
