Country fair to offer bucking bronco, assault course and inflatable laser tag

CHILDREN will be able to tackle a giant assault course, ride a bucking bronco and play inflatable laser tag at this year’s Galloway Country Fair.

The annual fair, held at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, will see the introduction of a brand new, free children’s entertainment zone which also includes a bouncy castle and mini quad bikes.

Brave youngsters can also take on the low ropes course – a 65ft challenge packed with various activities to keep everyone entertained.

A new addition to the fair, which will take place on the weekend over the 22 August, is a dedicated baby changing and feeding area.

Mums will also be able to make a stop at the Sling Stop Buggy Drop where they can be fitted with a sling, enabling them to leave the buggy behind and enjoy the weekend.

Animal-loving families will also be well-catered for, as Drumlanrig’s own David Lisett performs gundog displays on both days and the Galloway Gundogs take part in a scurry test.

The fair’s much-loved Sheep Show will make a welcome return alongside a new Dog and Duck Display – a 20-minute duck-herding show with audience participation to give the kids the chance to get involved.

There will also be the largest ever food marquee offering a wealth of produce, and a Decorative Cupcake competition for young budding bakers.
