Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic admits he is disappointed not to have scored a hat-trick despite notching a brace within minutes of coming on in Australia’s 7-0 mauling of Tajikistan.

Rogic climbed off the bench in the 67th minute in yesterday’s World Cup qualifier in Adelaide and was quick off the mark after scoring in 70th and 72nd minute.

The 23-year-old’s first was a guided volley that went in off the underside of the bar but his second was even better after he curled a shot into the net with the outside of his left-boot from 20 yards.

tomrogicThe Hoops playmaker, who will be hoping for a start in Tuesday’s clash against Harry Redknapp’s Jordan in Sydney, admits he should have scored more.

Rogic, speaking to Fox Sports, said: “Obviously you want to be starting but you have to be ready to come on and it’s always a privilege to play for your country.

“And I was just trying to be positive and lucky to get a goal or two.

“Two is nice, but it could’ve been three or four.

“I would’ve taken that before I went on so I’m delighted.”
