Former Rangers striker Andy Little has targeted promotion after joining Accrington Stanley on loan.

The 26-year-old had endured an injury-hit campaign with parent club Preston North End, failing to make single appearance for the Championship outfit.

The Northern Ireland internationalist scored one goal in five matches during a loan stint with League One strugglers Blackpool earlier this season.

And Little has been farmed out again as he bids to regain the form and fitness which saw him notch 38 goals in 87 appearance for the Ibrox outfit before leaving the club in 2014.

The deal runs until the end of the season with a clause to extend his stay if Stanley – currently in fifth spot – are involved in the promotion playoffs.

Little told Accrington’s official website: “The boys are very upbeat and there’s a really big chance of automatic promotion

“Having spoken to the manager I know that is the aim and the boys are confident they can do it. If and when I’m needed I hope that I can help to make the difference.”
