New deal for striker Lee Miller a timely boost for Falkirk

FALKIRK have been handed a massive boost ahead of this afternoon’s runners-up shoot-out with Hibs after striker Lee Miller signed a new 12-month contract.

The 32-year-old returned to his first club in August and has netted nine times in 31 appearances to help the Bairns head into today’s home clash with Morton as favourites to finish second in the Championship.

Miller penned just a short-term deal when he arrived at the start of the campaign but extended that with another agreement that was due to expire this summer.

His decision to commit his future to the club is a timely fillip as Peter Houston’s men seek the play-off advantage of pipping Hibs to second today.

Houston said: “Lee has been a great player for me, both on and off the pitch, over the course of the season.

“He is a strong, physical presence who adds a different dynamic to our attack.

“He is a fantastic character who adds key experience to our dressing room and has proved to be a very good role model to our two young strikers, Kevin O’Hara and Scott Shepherd.

“I’m delighted to get him signed up for next season.”
