Council worker accidentally livestreams on employer’s account

A MYSTERY council worker’s evening tipple turned into a social media meltdown when she accidentally livestreamed on her employer’s account.

The young brunette thought she was on her own social media account but had logged into the official Periscope page of Glasgow council.

She was then seen by up to 102,000 followers of the account as she captioned an image of herself looking dejected with the words “wine cuz bored”.

Although the video was quickly deleted, the image was widely shared on Twitter.

Periscope is an app which allows users to livestream video.

Heart Radio presenter Paul Harper was among those who retweeted the image, adding: “Tuesday night party @GlasgowCC ? We’re on our way!#MustHaveAEmpty.”

Twitter user Roisi Proven said: “’wine cuz bored’ could be the motto of the City of Glasgow.”

And another user wrote: “ Ah, social media, not @GlasgowCC’s strong point…”

A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: “A personal tweet was mistakenly made on a device with access to a council social media account.

“This is a reminder to use appropriate procedures when using social media.”
