Falkirk defender Peter Grant to be back by November, hopes Peter Houston

FALKIRK manager Peter Houston hopes Peter Grant will be back in the first-team by November after consulting his specialist on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old damaged his cruciate knee ligament in January and underwent surgery in February, but has been steadily improving his fitness in recent weeks.

Grant’s surgeon discharged him after the meeting but instructed him to stick to the original timescale that means it will be the end of September before the defender can play competitively.

Houston explained: “Peter has seen the specialist and in about six or seven weeks’ time he can start to play games again.

“He’ll still be training with us but the head surgeon has told him that he’ll be able to play competitive football again at that point.

“So, come the beginning of November, he’ll be back playing first-team football again, if everything continues to progress at the rate it’s going.

“He’s worked really hard and I’m delighted with that.”
