Aberdeen pair Adam Rooney and Kenny McLean will walk a suspension tightrope in tonight’s Europa League clash in Maribor.

The duo are each just one caution away from incurring an automatic one-game ban for a potential play-off round first leg, having both picked up two yellow cards in the opening five matches.

The Dons must score in Slovenia to keep their European dream alive after Jonny Hayes notched a late equaliser in the first leg at Pittodrie last Thursday.

A total of six Aberdeen players are all carrying one caution; Joe Lewis, Graeme Shinnie, Ash Taylor, Shay Logan, Ryan Jack and Hayes.

Should Aberdeen reach the group stages, all yellow cards and pending yellow-card suspensions will be expunged.
