Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Andreas Christensen has warned Celtic that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is unstoppable.
The Argentinian internationalist scored a hat-trick as Pep Guardiola’s side got their Champions League Group C campaign up and running with a 4-0 victory over the Germans on Wednesday.
City visit Parkhead on September 28 for their next match in the competition and Denmark defender Christensen, who is on a two-year loan deal at Monchengladbach from Chelsea, insists Celtic should brace themselves for another difficult evening after the Hoops were thrashed 7-0 by Barcelona on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old said: “He’s hard to stop. He is smart. We did our best, but he is always dangerous
“It’s difficult as he is clever, he always tries to be one step ahead of the defence.
“We were completely ready at the start, so it had nothing to do with it.
“At times we actually played the game we wanted to, but otherwise there’s not much we can take from this match.”
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Guardiola insists Aguero, who has already netted nine goals in five games this season, is among the top players he has worked with.
Guardiola said: “One of the best, no doubt about that. He has a special quality in the box. He’s a special player.
“We played well, so thanks to all the players for making me so happy, for making our fans happy and I hope our football can get better and better.”
