Student pestered for sex after applying for Gumtree cleaner job

A STUDENT has told how she was bombarded with a string of vile text messages after accepting a part-time cleaning job she saw on Gumtree.

Kirsty Glen has reported the matter to police and is warning other women to take care when responding to adverts on the site.

Kirsty, from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, accepted the cleaning job at the Giffnock of a “wee old man” known only as David.

The man behaved impeccably during the first stage of the interview at his home but then requested a massage.

After briefly attempting a massage, she asked if she could stop, and the man obliged, saying he would not make her do anything that made her uncomfortable.

David shortly afterwards started pestering Kirsty with extremely graphic requests for sexual favours.

On Sunday, when Kirsty was due to start her first shift, David texted her in broken English, asking her to “come over and take care of me”.

When she enquired as to what he he meant, he said he was looking for “some tlc” and “great head”.

The full texts from David read: “Would you like to come over today take care of me, you can do cleaning on Wednesday.”

Kirsty replied: “What do you need done today?”

He replied: “Give me some tlc.”

A baffled Kirsty replied: “What?”

David texted: “Take care of me, some tlc and great head.”

“I don’t understand…” wrote Kirsty.

He wrote back: “Kiss me all over and suck me dry, give me a great time lol, I’ll pay for it.”

Kirsty replied, saying: “I think I’ll leave working for you. Don’t contact me again.”

Kirsty then took to Facebook to share the exchange, and warn other people not to respond to his adverts.

She posted: “Just a warning to anyone that goes to apply for this job.

“The guy seemed like a generally nice old man that just needed a hand around the house, I went along to the interview on Friday I took along Billiejo because am quite shy.

“Started getting a wee bit weird when he asked if a would give him a massage, I said no I wasn’t trained in anything like that he insisted, and I mean insisted I should try, I felt really awkward and I stood up, tried for 2 seconds, and sat back down.

“I told him again it makes me feel uncomfortable I would just prefer to cook and clean he said that was fine he wouldn’t ask me to do anything that made me feel uncomfortable.

“I was to start today and started getting these sexual messages offering to pay for sexual stuff. I’ve contacted the police but young ladies please do not attend any interviews like this yourself and don’t reply to his post, god knows what could of happened if a went myself.”

Commenters on social media reacted with outrage at the situation.

Leanne Feeney posted: “Call the police! He’s a predator that needs locking up. Glad you’re ok.”

Elizabeth McCracken wrote: “What a dirty old f***. Creep! Get word out so nobody ends up in the house alone with him.”

Donna Cameron said: “Nothing funny about this at all. Anything could have happened to you in this house. Hope the horrible old b****** gets what he deserves.”

The poster has listed other adverts on Gumtree in the past.

One such advert reads: “Beauty therapist wanted for full body massage including head and feet for afternoon, eves and weekends on a regular basis. Expect pref and refs.”
