OUTLANDER star Sam Heughan has set pulses racing with an online video of his workout routine.

The clip of the handsome actor doing burpees, squats and lunges has sparked a frenzied response from his legions of admirers.

The 37-year-old, who plays Jamie Fraser in the hit show, posted a short clip of his exercise regime online and was met with a variety of responses which included GIF clips of women fainting and cooling off inside fridge freezers.

The Scottish star posted the black and white 13-second-clip on Twitter last night (SUN).

The footage has since had over 900 retweets, over 6,700 likes and countless more comments from his impressed followers.

The video starts as the topless Heughan lifts a weight above his head before cutting to show him performing some press-ups.

It then shows him doing a weighted squat and some bicep curls.

The workout routine also includes some box jumps, use of the rowing machine and a shoulder rotation.

The clip ends with a still shot of Heughan on the front of this month’s Men’s Health edition.

Swooning fans have been quick to respond to the clip.

Some responded with short clips of women falling to the ground and spraying themselves with water to cool down.

Whilst others posted videos of people overheating, with one clip showing a woman placing her head inside a freezer.

Pata Rich wrote: “You’re trying to give your female fans heart failure between this weekend’s pics and now this. Hope I recover by September 10 so I can watch season three.”

Leanne commented: “I’m exhausted just looking at this.”

Whilst Ngie added: “Yup! Sam is in such awesome shape. He takes good care of himself.”

Much of the upcoming season three was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa.

Fans of the show recently called for tennis ace Andy Murray to make an appearance in the show following Ed Sheeran’s cameo in Game of Thrones.
