HILARIOUS footage shows a dog left utterly baffled when an Amazon Echo started making cat noises.
The perplexed pooch tilts its head and tries to paw the gizmo as it makes an assortment of meowing sounds.
Chango, a two-year-old basenji, was filmed by owner Carla Murdoch at her Inverness home.
Carla posted the video to social media with the caption: “So who knew Alexa had a ‘meow’ function?”
In the video, Carla can be heard saying “meow” and a few seconds later the Echo responds.
Chango cranes his neck, with his ears bolt upright, as he tries to get a better angle to hear the cat noises.
The bewildered pet keeps pawing the Echo and even looks underneath the table it’s sat on for signs of felines.
Chango then starts sniffing Alexa and nudging the device with his nose, before almost knocking the device off the table.
Carla said: “He pretty much ignores Alexa the rest of the time but was certainly curious with it meowing.
“Alexa misheard us the other night. It said that ‘meow’ currently wasn’t activated so did we want to activate it?
“Said ‘yes’ and it just randomly started meowing, if you meow at it then it continues to meow back.”
Carla said her pet spends most of his day lounging in the living room window, keeping an eye on the street and any cats that venture into “his” garden.
Responding to the post, Rachael Netherway said: “Me and Alexa aren’t speaking right now, but I need to try this.”
Jacquie Hall posted: “MOM. There’s a cat in there.”
Victoria Miller commented: “Oh lol. Guess what I’ll be trying tonight.”
