Scotland youth cap has chances to impress Jose Mourinho on Manchester United’s tour of America

Scotland under-19 internationalist Ethan Hamilton has been given the chance to impress Jose Mourinho after being included in Manchester United’s tour of America.

The Edinburgh-born midfielder was part of the Red Devils travelling party that jetted across the Atlantic and could feature in games against Champions League winners Real Madrid, Liverpool, AC Milan, San Jose Earthquakes and Club America.

Hamilton signed a new long-term deal with United last week after impressing in Ricky Sbragia’s under-23 side last term.

The 19-year-old joined the English giants in 2014 from Hutchison Vale Boys Club was an unused substitute in last season’s FA Cup win at Huddersfield after French World Cup winner Paul Pogba fell ill.

Speaking last week, Hamilton said: “United is renowned for giving young players a chance to play in the first team if you are good enough, no matter what your age, and that’s my dream.”

Scotland internationalist Scott McTominay is also part of the squad in the US, as is left back Demi Mitchell, who impressed on loan at Hearts last season and is wanted back at Tynecastle.
