DRAMATIC footage of a massive brawl that erupts in US branch of a fast food chain has gone viral.
Staff at what is believed to be a McDonald’s in Baltimore, Maryland, are powerless to intervene as customers fight, smash up the counter – and pilfer paper cups.
Chris Thompson, from Baltimore, uploaded the video to his personal Facebook page on Friday night with the caption: “Brawl Breaks Out In A Baltimore McDonald’s.”
The video has been watched by more than 1.7 million people and shared more than 36,000 times.
The clip begins showing a group of people standing by a till at the far right of the row.
One male can be seen poised ready to fight before suddenly he throws a fist at someone.
Different fights start up out of nowhere, with staff losing control and complete mayhem breaking out.
People fighting quickly move behind the counter where the the staff are.
Someone in a yellow jumper or hoodie jumps onto the counter and throws a punch at someone behind the tills before jumping down on top of him.
Metal trays and other utensils can be heard banging and smashing into one another.
One person wearing orange nonchalantly walks past the camera’s line of sight with his back showing, at the same time as the pane of glass above the tills smashes.
Off camera, a female voice can be heard screaming and someone can be heard saying: “Oh s***.
Fighting continues and more people go behind the tills, as the shouting and commotion continues.
A voice can be heard repeatedly saying: “Hey yo”, when a man in a blue top jumps into frame, steals a cup, and then hops back out.
There is still a big commotion going on behind the tills, staff appearing to be powerless to do anything, as more people take cups and the video comes to an end.
Speaking today (Mon), Chris remarked: “It was crazy.”
Facebook users reacted with disbelief and bemusement, with many seeing the funny side of the man in blue stealing the cup in the midst of the carnage.
Lacoya Nettles commented: “Ridiculous.”
Linda Patterson said: “What in the hell was this all about?”
Alexander Escobar wrote: “Yea yea fight and whatever, but aint no one saw how my man’s deadass snatched that cup, smooth asf like he was on a mission?”
George Missimer said: “That dude grabbing the cup lol.”

Craig Welburn, who owns and operates the McDonald’s involved in the incident, said: “In our restaurants, nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our customers and employees. We are investigating this incident.”
