EUROPE’S first festival which celebrates Keanu Reeves will take place next weekend in Glasgow and host the UK debut of film, Destination Wedding.
KeanuCon will take up residence on the 27th and 28th April in Glasgow’s CCA and follows the actor’s career through 10 and a half films which includes a double bill of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, followed by a live performance from Wyld Stallyns.
The festival will close with the UK premiere of the 2018 film, Destination Wedding, a romantic comedy-drama where Keanu Reeves stars alongside Winona Ryder in their fourth onscreen coupling.
The film follows two miserable strangers who turn out to be attending the same wedding in Paso Robles.
Glasgow-based event exhibitors, Matchbox Cineclub, are no strangers to quirky events and set out to programme, curate and promote cult film events such as Cage-a-rama, Europe’s longest running Nicholas Cage film festival and Weird Weekend, a festival dedicated to strange and unseen cinema.
Weekend passes for KeanuCon are sold out; but very limited individual tickets are still on sale via matchboxcineclub.com.
