PETER HARING has signed a new contract with Hearts that will tie him to the Tynecastle outfit until 2022.
The 25-year-old has been a revelation for the Jambos since joining on a two-year deal from Austrian outfit SV Ried last summer, initially to provide competition at centre-back.
Instead, Haring has established himself as a mainstay of the Hearts midfield, scoring seven goals in 36 outings and emerging as one of the standout performers during their blistering start to the campaign.
His progress was interrupted by a persistent double hernia issue which ultimately required surgery in January, resulting in a two-month layoff – while he is currently battling a pelvis complaint.
However, he remains a pivotal part of Craig Levein’s plans and, following several weeks of talks between the parties, pen has been put to paper.
Hearts will now turn their attention to signing Steven Naismith to a permanent contract and convincing Arnaud Djoum to extend his stay in Gorgie, with the Cameroon internationalist’s deal set to expire this summer.
