Assembly Festival announces full line up

Wannabe will feature in this year’s lineup.

THE ASSEMBLY theatre has announced its final line-up of shows ahead of the 2019 Fringe Festival.

A selection of comedy, musicals, physical theatre, cabaret and kids shows will take place at Assemby venues from 31July until 26 August and the full programme will launch next week.

Tickets are now on sale for Assemby Festival shows.

William Burdett-Coutts, Artistic Director of Assembly Festival, said: “2019 is shaping up to be another fantastic year for Assembly Festival with the very best theatre and comedy at the heart of our programme.

“I hope that our line-up will provide Edinburgh’s audiences with an excellent selection of shows that are both memorable and entertaining.”

Big names at the Assemby Fringe this year include actress and MeToo advocate, Rose McGowan, who will make her debut this year and comedy legend Eddie Izzard.

Rose McGowan comes to the Fringe this year to make her debut.

Other programme highlights include a comedy fundraiser for Creative Carbon Scotland raising awareness of one of the most pressing issues of our time called Stand Up For Your Planet, WiFi Wars and comedy from Pinder Prize winners Sam Taunton.

Musical acts at featured are Wannabe: The Spice Girls Show, The Magnets and beat-boxing tap dancers, Noise Boys.

Top kids shows this year are Little Baby Bum, which won the Best Children’s Show weekly award at Fringe World in Perth this year Comete and The Ruff Guide to Shakespeare.
