HILARIOUS footage shows a man dodge torrential rain – by wearing a child’s playhouse.

The bizarre video was taken on Friday and shows the man emerging from the Lanes shopping centre in Carlisle, Cumbria, during one of the downpours that hit the country last week.

The man can be seen balancing the children’s toy house on top of his head as he makes his way down the road.

His arm can be seen sticking out of one of the windows as the doors on the playhouse are seen swinging back and forth as he attempts to avoid the deluge.

The caption on the video reads: “That’s one way to stay dry”.

The footage was posted on social media by Jay Hill, from Carlisle, who posted the clips saying: “Only in Carlisle”.

29-year-old Jay caught the unusual scene while on his break.

Speaking today, he said: “It’s not the strangest thing you see in Carlisle but I thought it was a tad extreme for a slight drizzle.”

Facebook user Richard Holt commented: “On his way to the housing office. Pleading his case for a one bed.”

Lorna Roberts added: “When you don’t want to leave the house.”

Some had a more rational explanation for the behaviour. Ally Timmons wrote: “It’s funny to look at but after about 20 seconds you probably realise this is a great dad who regardless of having no car went and bought a playhouse for his child and walked all the way home with it.

“And what better way to carry it in fairness”.
