AWARD-winning comedian, Steff Todd is probably most well-known for her viral impressions of reality TV stars – you might have seen her video mimicking this year’s Love Island contestants circling lately.

The Yorkshire comedian, impressionist and internet sensation is now appearing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with Reality Check, her debut solo show.

Steff is worried she has been watching waaaaay too much reality TV and she might be right, but it’s definitely helping her hone in her skills as an impressionist.

Everyone from Kim Kardashian to Theresa May featured in Steff’s hour long set at the Caves on Friday (23 Aug). She regaled her morning television schedule to the crowd in the room at the Just the Tonic venue.

Starting with Lorraine Kelly went down well with the Edinburgh audience who were familiar with Steff’s favourite TV celebrities (her Cheryl Cole and Charlotte Crosby were particularly on point).

She continued her set by discussing the rest of her weekend schedule, including a trip home to see her family in Settle, North Yorkshire. Unfortunately the structure of the storytelling aspect of her show felt a little bit scattered.

Reality Check is Steff’s first debut show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and it’s evident from spending an hour with her that she has a real talent as a comedian and impressionist. She seems to still be finding her feet with her stand up, but nevertheless this show makes for a highly amusing afternoon.

Steff is a hilariously accurate impressionist and clearly an emerging talent on the UK comedy scene. Hopefully with a little more experience under her belt she will be back with a more streamlined production at next years festival.
