Scottish brewers launch first non-alcoholic dark ale

A Scottish brewery has launched Scotland’s first ever alcohol-free dark ale, just in time for St.Andrew’s Day.

The 0% ABV dark ruby ale comes from family business Harviestoun Brewery, who have launched the produced in time for St. Andrew’s Day.

Named after the old Scottish slang for ‘quiet’, the drink called ‘Wheesht’ is a dark ale promising full flavours and aromas of roasted chocolate, sweet biscuit and dried fruit made.

The hangover-free beverage has been a project years in the making and its producers claim it tastes just like the real thing.

Launched at the Bridge of Orchy Hotel in Argyll, the £1.15 drink is being marketed as a non -alcoholic option for visitors or walkers to the Highland hotel.

The Bridge of Orchy Hotel is located on the West Highland way and is currently serving the beverage to patrons.
