Terrifying moment BMW “doing 90mph” in atrocious weather aquaplanes and hits safety barrier

TERRIFYING video shows a BMW driver lose control and hit a safety barrier after driving at an estimated 90mph on a water-logged dual carriageway.

The motorist takes no account of the dreadful conditions as they overtake cars at high speed, throwing spray in all directions.

The car then appears to aquaplane and the driver touches the brakes, causing the car to skid and hit the central reservation barrier.

The incident happened on November 27 around 1:15pm on the A2 by Dartford Heath, Kent, and was captured on dash cam by a driver who wishes to remain anonymous.

The dash cam driver posted the clip to a public Facebook group as a warning to drivers saying: “Go careful out there guys and girls. Drive to the road conditions, it’s not a race!”

The dashcam driver was travelling at about 60mph, according to the data on his display.

He also slows down as he approaches a stretch of the dual carriageway which has been flooded with water.

Suddenly a black BMW appears in shot and is speeding down the right hand lane.

The BMW rushes through the water, spraying it in the air either side of the vehicle.

After losing control, it veers to the right and slams into the central reservation before ricocheting into the middle of the road. The car then reverses and comes to a halt on the embankment.

Gary Buck said: “What an idiot. Whoever was driving needs many points on their licence, if in fact they actually have a licence!”

Helen McCrow added: “What an idiot driving at those speeds in this weather, they are very lucky it wasn’t a worse outcome, hope others learn from this, I know they will.”

Josh Moran wrote: “Shouldn’t have been going so fast, the p****, serves them right.”

Jacob Small said: “That c*** needs to take their test again if you can’t drive in a straight line without crashing you shouldn’t be in a car as simple as that.”

Dominic Shepherd added: “That’s what you get for being stupid and not taking conditions like that seriously.”
