Details of Boyle and Pebbles eight-month separation revealed

By Rory Reynolds

THEY were once inseparable and shot to stardom together, but Susan Boyle and her beloved cat Pebbles have been living apart for eight months.

The Britain’s Got Talent sensation – whose debut album topped the charts around the world – has visited her 11-year-old cat just three times since last July, it has been revealed.

Pebbles now lives with the elderly friend of one of Boyle’s management team in Wanstead, East London, after Simon Cowell said that travelling with a cat was a problem.

Retired accountant Pamela Eaton-Browne, who has been looking after Peebles for around eight months, said she is given just £4 per day to fund the cat’s lavish tastes.

The 76-year-old said: “One day Simon Cowell said to my friend, ‘do you know anyone who will look after this cat, because Susan’s flying all over the world and what do you do with the cat?’

“Anyway, this friend said to me, ‘we all know you like cats, would you have Susan’s cat for a couple of weeks?’”

“I never expected to have her for all this time.”

Pamela, who has two cats of her own, Truffles and Sapphire, says that the £4 does not cover Pebbles fancy dishes.

She said: “She has little pouches of premium wet food in gravy for breakfast.

“She’s always got a bowl of Royal Canin biscuits and they’re £3.40 a packet.

“At lunchtime she has chicken and teatime she has poached or steamed fish.”

Pamela explained that the last time Susan visited Pebbles hid from her for the whole time she was there.

She said: “They pulled up at 2.40pm. It was Susan, my friend and the new PA- who is one of her nieces – a very nice lady who sits there and pats Susan’s hand.

“They made such a racket, the three of them, that Pebbles shot under the wardrobe and didn’t want to know.

“So Susan was here for an hour and a half and didn’t see Pebbles.”

Boyle has had commitments across the globe since the launch of her new album, including appearing on America’s top chat show, Oprah.

The singer from Blackburn in West Lothian still owns her old house, despite being offered a luxury apartment in the US.

A spokeswoman for Susan confirmed that the two had split, saying: “This lady has met Susan on a couple of occasions and she’s looking after Pebbles at the moment for Susan.”
