Cup party cut short for Dundee Utd fan attacked and robbed of scarf

By Michael MacLeod

A DUNDEE United fan was attacked and robbed of his scarf just hours after the team won the Scottish Cup final.

The 43 year-old was walking on Brook Street, just north of the city’s university campus, when he was assaulted.

Three teenagers shoved him to the ground and made off with his Tangerines scarf.

Police have appealed for witnesses to Saturday’s 10.30pm robbery.

The city was busy with United fans celebrating a 3-0 win over Ross County, marking their second ever Scottish Cup victory.

The victim was released from hospital later that night after receiving treatment for bruising.

Tayside Police said all three suspects were about 5ft 9″ in height.

One had short blonde hair, wearing an orange, red and brown coloured hooded top and khaki coloured trousers.

The other two were wearing white and dark hooded tops.

Police urged anyone with further information to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
