McGregor wants to direct so he can keep on clothes

EWAN McGregor has revealed that he would like to try his hand at directing so that he doesn’t have to take off his clothes.

The 40-year-old Scots actor said that he would love to work behind the lens but that he hadn’t had the opportunity yet.

In an interview with an American newspaper he said:

“I’ve been slightly nervous about it because it’s such a big idea.

“I also never wanted to do it just to be a director but rather to do it because I want to tell a particular story and I’m still waiting for that story to find me. “

He added:

“The real reason I would like to direct is so that I can turn up at work and not take off my clothes.

“It seems like every day I turn up for work I have to take off my clothes and put on someone else’s clothes so it would be quite nice to just wear my own clothes all day. “

The star also commented on Star Wars coming out on 3D. He said:

“I suppose it’s nice for the fans to have a really sharp colourful version, but I don’t know what it means more than that. “

The Trainspotting star’s latest film is Mike Mills’

“Beginners,’ which co-stars Christopher Plummer.

It is a story about a 75-year-old man who decides to come out of the closet, and how it changes the lives of people around him.

He is also set to make an appearance at the Edinburgh film festival this weekend for the premier of David MacKenzie’s film Perfect Sense.
