Police hunt pair who assaulted man

Police are hunting two men

A MAN has been left battered an bruised after being assaulted on Saturday night.

The 26-year-old was walking along Albert Street in Newton Stewart, Dumfries and Galloway when the attack began at around 8.35pm.

The victim was assaulted by two men but managed to run off.

His attackers chased him and caught up with him outside The Dynasty Chinese Takeaway where they assaulted him again.

The victim received minor bruising and cuts as a result of the attack.

His assailants are described as being around the age of 18, with local accents. One man wore a gray hoodie, while the other wore a white one.
