Fife police appeal for assault information

POLICE in Levenmouth are appealing for information in relation to an assault which took place at the Village Store, Station Road, Windygates yesterday (Thursday 5th April 2012).

A man entered the shop about 1.15pm and assaulted the shop keeper before running off when confronted by a passer-by. The man is described as 5’7″, of stocky build and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

Detective Inspector Nicola Shepherd, the officer-in-charge of the enquiry said: “Thankfully the shopkeeper was not injured, although is shaken by the whole event. I am keen speak to anyone who was in the area of the Cross in Windygates around 1.15pm yesterday afternoon and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously.”
