The P7 pupil at Deanpark Primary travelled to Aberdeen with members of the Edinburgh and District Burns Club, who returned home carrying the prized ‘West Sound’ Rosebowl.

Eleven year-old Annie said it was a dream to win

Annie will now be invited to perform at the West Sound Burns Supper that takes place in Glasgow in January. The event which is broadcast live is reputed to be the largest Burns supper in the world and attracts around 600 guests.

The 11 year-old said “I love Burns poetry and it has been an ambition of mine since I was 8 years-old to perform ‘Tam O’Shanter’ at the finals, but to win it was an absolute dream.”
