Woman admits failing to get vet help for dog

AN Ayrshire woman has admitted causing her dog unnecessary suffering following a Scottish SPCA investigation.

Christina Hutchison, 54, then residing at Wallace Avenue, Troon, admitted the offence at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday.

Sentence has been deferred for background reports.

Sandy suffers from a chronic skin complaint

Hutchison failed to provide the necessary veterinary treatment for her ten year old lurcher, Sandy, who was suffering from a chronic skin condition.

Scottish SPCA Chief Inspector Hamish Mackintosh said, “We are very pleased Hutchison has admitted this offence as Sandy was caused a great deal of pain and suffering over a prolonged period of time.

“It is now up to the court to decide on an appropriate punishment.”
