Scotchy scotch scotch: Old St Andrews Distillery creates unique Anchorman whisky

In anticipation of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, fans can now give the gift of Ron Burgundy whisky this Christmas.

Riviera Imports in Texas have announced a new “Ron Burgundy blended Scotch whisky” called “Great Odin’s Raven Special Reserve.”

Crafted and bottled in Scotland from a 60% malt and a 40% blend by Old St.Andrews Distillery, featuring whiskies from Speyside, Highlands and Islay.

Lead character Ron Burgundy’s love of whisky has been immortalised in the original Anchorman film, released in 2004, where he proclaims: “I love Scotch. Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch. Here it goes down, down into my belly.”

The bottle itself features the silhouette of a black raven above Burgundy’s now famous words “Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch”, while the initials “RB” are printed on gold medals.

Rivera Imports, an importer of spirits, wines and beers from around the world, says the Scotch will be available in a 750 milliliter size only and will cost $25.

A spokesman for the company said: “It is a fine Scotch product more than comparable in quality to other blended Scotches at its price point.

“Not just for Anchorman fans, Ron Burgundy Blended Scotch Whisky is produced for budding Scotch connoisseurs and traditional Scotch enthusiasts alike.”

Anchorman 2 is rumoured to again feature Burgundy’s love of Scotland’s national drink, alongside cameo appearances from Harrison Ford and Nicole Kidman.

Ron Burgundy Whisky – Great Odin’s Raven is now available to buy in the US and Canada.

This isn’t the first Ron Burgundy-inspired product to hit store shelves as the world gears up for a second dose of the hit franchise.

In October, Ben & Jerry’s announced its “Scotchy Scotch Scotch” ice cream, and Chandler’s SanTan Brewery has been making its Sex Panther beer since 2011.
